Medicanja, Jamaica’s first medical marijuana company, was launched in this year amid renewed debate about ganja laws reform. The company is being run by Dr. Henry Lowe of Jamaica, who is a leading expert in THC research for medical purposes. It is jointly funded by the University of West Indies (UWI) and the University of Technology. Dr. Henry Lowe, a leading researcher in THC studies for medical purposes, has announced that the company will be producing CBD-based medical products. These products fall under the legal accepted medicinal use of marijuana. Lowe claims that the plant extract can be used for psychosis, severe pain, and mid-life crises.
